Passing through Liberia, continue 5 kilometers north on the paved road until you see the sign that say Rincón de la Vieja National Park - Las Pailas - sector; turn right and keep going 22 kilometers on a gravel road. Past Curubandé you will get to the gate of Hacienda Guachipilin farm. Keep going and at the first intersection make a left (towards "Las Pailas" sector). At the second intersection you will see our sign; there you make a right 1 kilometer until you get to the lodge. Also reachable by bus from San José, go to the "Pulmitan" bus station and take to bus to Liberia. It s a 4 hours trip on the Pan-American Highway. Once in Liberia you need to get a taxi to reach another bus terminal to take you to the lodge. Is the Volcano area dangerous? No, because there are 13 craters and mostly with hot water, steam and hot mud. 

What to do in RINCON DE LA VIEJA LODGE?Discover the life in a Hacienda on the volcano slopes and its natural attraction.You can do Canopy Tours, Horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, sulphourous hot  springs baths, all inside the hacienda.Outside the hacienda, you can visit the PARK and see the active crater, Blue Lagoon or Las Pailas Trail with its different volcanic activities, Santa Maria ranger station and hidden waterfalls.
